The provincial government has announced 54 new coronavirus cases, including 20 in the Interior Health region, in the past 24 hours.
The new cases bring B.C.’s total since the pandemic began to 148,282, although just 650 cases remain active. Of the active cases, 63 individuals are currently in hospital and 12 are in intensive care.
There are now 161 cases active in Interior Health.
There was one new COVID-19 death reported Thursday in the Vancouver Coastal Health region.
As of Thursday, 79.4 per cent of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 48.6 per cent received their second dose.
