Males arrested in downtown package theft
Two Guelph males have been arrested following a theft of an Amazon package last month from a downtown address.
Approximately 12:40 a.m. June 24, two males attended a downtown apartment building. One stood guard while the other pried open the front door and removed a package from the lobby area. The package was later determined to hold a tennis racquet. Two suspects were identified from surveillance video.
A 46-year-old Guelph male was arrested downtown Monday morning. He is charged with break and enter and will appear in a Guelph court September 6, 2022.
A 40-year-old Guelph male was located downtown later Monday morning. During a search incident to arrest officers located a small amount of suspected ecstasy along with property believed to be stolen. He is charged with break and enter, possessing break-in instruments, possessing property obtained by crime, possessing a controlled substance and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
Matching vehicles stolen overnight
The Guelph Police Service is investigating after matching vehicles were stolen late Sunday or early Monday.
Approximately 7 a.m. Monday, a female called to report her white 2018 Honda CRV had been stolen sometime overnight. It had been parked on Westwood Road.
Two hours later, a resident in the area of Eramosa Road and Meyer Drive called police to report his white 2019 Honda CRV had been stolen from his driveway sometime overnight. It is not known if the thefts are related.

Female arrested in break and enter
A Guelph female was arrested Monday following a break and enter earlier in the day to a downtown parking garage.
Approximately 12:15 a.m. a female gained entry to a garage at a Yarmouth Street apartment building. She spent an hour in the garage checking car doors and eventually left with a quantity of stolen property. She was identified via surveillance video.
Just after 6 p.m. Monday the female was located downtown. Some of the stolen property was recovered at that time. A 26-year-old Guelph female is charged with break and enter. She will appear in a Guelph court August 26, 2022.
