S&P/TSX futures were up 0.2 per cent Monday morning as a drop in oil prices of about four per cent eased inflation worries, Trading Economics reported. The S&P/TSX composite index closed Friday at 35,620.03, down 629.00 points, or 1.735 per cent, TMX Money data showed.
Friday’s drop was the index’s sharpest single-day decline in nearly six months, according to Trading Economics, and was led by technology and mining stocks. TMX Money said the index is up 12.321 per cent so far this year. Our Friday midday report has the early detail on the tech selloff.
