No new staff members have tested positive, keeping the total at 16.
Earlier this week the Misericordia announced it was entering a full-facility outbreak, closing the hospital to new patients. The emergency department was also closed and visitors are only allowed in “end of life” situations.
Calgary currently has the most active cases in the province with 228, while southern Alberta has 96. Central Alberta has 13 cases while northern Alberta sits at 44. There has been 8,596 confirmed cases in the province since the beginning of the pandemic, 7,844 of those are now classified as recoveries.
There are currently 50 Albertans in hospital, nine of whom are in intensive care units.
Provincial labs have completed 514,970 tests.
There have been 106,805 total cases of COVID-19 and 8,749 deaths across the country, the latest numbers from the Government of Canada show. Globally, there have been 12,102,328 confirmed cases and 551,046 deaths, according to the World Health Organization.
