Art keeps them together

One tiny gesture led to a huge creative friendship. That was 25 years ago, when Tanya Zaryski, an art student, saw an exhibition by Michele Karch-Ackerman, an emerging artist.

“She reached out to me out of the blue and we became the best of friends over the phone,” Karch-Ackerman recalls.
