Health Canada has ordered Junior Brands Corp. of Toronto to recall the Valco Baby Trend Duo double stroller after finding it does not meet the Carriages and Strollers Regulations, with risks of tip-over and child entrapment.
According to the recall notice published Oct. 1, the affected stroller is model N0048, sold in the colours Night, Charcoal, Cappuccino and Cloud. The batch number is 1018234-CAN and the barcode is 9 315517 100480.
The company told Health Canada that 314 units were sold in Canada between August 2024 and December 2025. The notice does not name retailers or regions. The stroller was made in China for the Australian brand Valco Baby.
Health Canada said the stroller may tip over during use, putting a child at risk of falling and being hurt. It also said the leg opening in front of the seat can allow a child’s torso to fit through, creating a serious risk of entrapment, and that areas around the seat may expose children to shearing or pinching.
As of Sept. 25, the company had received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada, the notice said.
Owners should stop using the stroller immediately and contact Junior Brands Corp. about how to eliminate the hazards, using [email protected] or valcobaby.ca. Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, recalled products cannot be sold, redistributed or given away in Canada.
Anyone who has had a health or safety incident with the product can report it to Health Canada through its Consumer Product Incident Report Form. The recall identification number is RA-82703.
