Arttu Hyry scored twice for the first multi-goal game of his NHL career as the Dallas Stars shut out the Chicago Blackhawks 4-0 at United Center on Saturday, NHL.com reported.
Jake Oettinger made 19 saves for his third shutout of the season, and Jason Robertson had a goal and an assist for the Stars, according to the NHL’s official game summary. Spencer Knight stopped 28 shots for Chicago.
The Finnish winger’s name drew more than 200 searches in Canada on Saturday night, according to Google Trends, three nights after he scored a short-handed goal against Colorado.
Robertson opened the scoring on a power play at 4:58 of the second period, finishing a short return pass from Mikko Rantanen from the bottom of the left face-off circle, NHL.com said. Hyry made it 2-0 at 14:10 when he finished a two-on-one rush with Sam Steel, beating Knight with a wrist shot from the right circle.
He added his second at 1:27 of the third period. Hyry took a long stretch pass from Nils Lundkvist, cut into the left circle and lifted a backhand over Knight’s glove, according to NHL.com. Roope Hintz closed the scoring at 9:40 with a wrist shot under the crossbar, with assists from Tyler Seguin and Robertson.
The two goals were Hyry’s second and third of the season. His first came on Wednesday in Denver, when he stole the puck from Cale Makar at the Dallas blue line and beat goaltender Scott Wedgewood on a short-handed breakaway in a game the Stars won 3-2 in a shootout, RotoWire and NHL.com reported. Hyry had gone without a goal on six shots in his first six games before that, RotoWire said. His first NHL goal, also short-handed, came against the Philadelphia Flyers on March 29, 2026, in his 18th career game, CBS Sports reported.
Dallas outshot Chicago 32-19, the NHL summary shows. The Stars improved to 4-3-1 and have won two straight and four of their past six, NHL.com said. The Blackhawks fell to 3-6-0 after a two-game winning streak that included an overtime win over the Winnipeg Jets.
Oettinger has now posted three shutouts in the Stars’ first eight games, including a 5-0 win over the San Jose Sharks on Oct. 5, The Canadian Press reported at the time. He also blanked the Winnipeg Jets last season in a 3-0 duel with fellow U.S. goaltender Connor Hellebuyck.
