British Columbia health officials have reported 414 new cases – including 26 in Island Health – and 16 deaths from COVID-19 since their last update on Feb. 2.
The number of confirmed cases in B.C. climbs to 68,780 while the province’s death toll now stands at 1,234.
Of the new cases, 108 were identified in Vancouver Coastal Health, 182 were in Fraser Health, 26 were in Island Health, 63 in Interior Health, 34 in Northern Health, and one new case of a person who resides outside of Canada.
There are currently 4,426 active cases in the province, 278 people in hospital — 80 of whom are in intensive care — and 7,049 people under active public health monitoring due to possible exposure to an identified case.
A total of 61,643 people in B.C. have recovered from COVID-19. There have been 142,146 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in B.C., 6,417 of which are second doses.
Island Health
There are currently 228 active cases on Vancouver Island, a decrease of 11 cases since the last update on Feb. 2, according to data available on Island Health’s website.
There are currently 54 (-4) active cases on southern Vancouver Island, 167 (-6) on central Vancouver Island and 7 (-2) on northern Vancouver Island.
Over the course of the pandemic, the Island Health region has reported 1,711 cases.
