Now that Chrystia Freeland has left the Trudeau government’s cabinet she will need to reevaluate her political options.
Here is an idea she can consider. Is Chrystia’s place not in Ottawa but in Toronto? Such a dynamic feminist firebrand has a place in Ontario’s Legislature where she would shine and still affect Canadian Affairs, building her brand for the time that she returns to Ottawa as the leader of the Federal Liberals.
How can this be done you may ask and why?
She is leaving the Cabinet and maybe federal politics to protect her political brand. The federal liberals will probably be destroyed by this in the coming election. Instead of going through this costly humiliation Chrystia can throw her political credentials into the Ontario wing of the Liberal Party and depose the lack-luster Bonnie Crombie. If Freeland were a liberal leader in Ontario the party would have a chance of replacing a liberal-friendly Doug Ford in a heartbeat.
Ontario is the economic heart of Canada, so what better place for Freeland to exert her presence politically. The healthier Ontario is the healthier Canada will become.
Bonnie Crombie: Out with the do nothing legacy and place a Strong Woman at the reigns of Ontario’s once powerful Liberal Party. Freeland is such a person. Getting away from Ottawa will allow the nation to foresee the damage a Conservative Government under Pierre Poilievre will present, and allow the Conservatives to cut, slash and layoff masses of federal employee’s and Crown Corporations, all creating a bad image for Canadians. Compare a proposed Conservative Government determined to handle government business in a business like manner, and the public friendly image of the Freeland touch. Who was there when Covid-19 struck, not Pierre but the Trudeau-Freeland Team.
