A trio of Democratic lawmakers are calling on President Joe Biden to block the purchase of United States Steel Corp by a Japanese company, raising pressure on the administration to review the deal.
The lawmakers from Pennsylvania, the crucial swing state where US Steel is headquartered, wrote Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and urged that the deal be reviewed and blocked by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, which the Treasury Department leads.
