Well, on the one hand, the Judge ruled that Apple must allow alternative payment methods for in-app purchases, but on the other hand, she refused to rule that the Apple was wrong to delist Epic for including an alternative payment method in the Fornite app. This is the bit that is confusing and doesn’t quite make sense.

Apple doesnt force you to buy iphone = apple is not monopolistic.Apple doesn’t sell a product, they simply rent it. It’s like a leasehold with some changes.

To be honest we need international market laws to everything electronics hardware and software and all need to fallow the rules. Being based in one country by it’s laws is making problems.

Anonymous, 12 hours agoEpic should have won. This is a loss for other developers supporting epic in their battle I would not say that it’s a loss. Epics game got what they basically wanted and for other apps it is better also. And i would say apple lost in this one cause now they need to allow alternative in-app payment methods so they wont get there cut from the pie anymore

Apple is America and no judge would ruled a case against the company, perhaps outside America and it won’t holds water

Both of them are very greedy. Apple is greedy because of their ridiculous 30% pay cut. Epic is greedy because they want the same money which is again ridiculous for consumers but don’t want to pay anything to a platform owner by virtue of which it is earning money. To be honest EPIC doesn’t need this much money.. there are way better online games like Apex legends which is a much harder development and still earns way less and they are passionate about what they do.Fortnite was a money chugging machine which focuses way more to costumes and purchases rather than the gameplay itself.
