Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada invited 752 provincial nominees to apply for permanent residence in an Express Entry round held Oct. 13, with a lowest CRS score of 772.
The round, numbered 448, was limited to candidates in the Express Entry pool who hold a nomination from a province or territory under the Provincial Nominee Program. The tie-breaking rule put the cut-off at July 15, 2026, at 13:57:33, meaning candidates tied at 772 were ranked by when they submitted their profile, according to figures reported by Immigration News Canada and ITCILand.
The high cut-off reflects how the system treats nominations. A provincial nomination adds a large block of Comprehensive Ranking System points, which is why PNP rounds routinely clear scores far above those in other draws. IRCC has said it will keep inviting nominees through both general rounds and PNP-specific rounds, as noted on its Express Entry rounds of invitations page.
The draw came two days before the Canadian Experience Class round and three days before the French-language round. IRCC invited 2,500 Canadian Experience Class candidates at a CRS of 519 on Oct. 15 and 5,000 French-language candidates at a CRS of 435 on Oct. 16.
The Express Entry pool held 229,456 candidates as of Oct. 12, the day before the draw, as detailed in our report on the pool. Only 749 of them sat in the 601 to 1,200 range, the band where nominees with high scores fall.
Candidates who received an invitation to apply generally have a limited window to submit a complete application, and the deadline is stated in the invitation itself. Anyone who believes they may be eligible for a provincial nomination should check the nominating province’s own immigration site, since each program sets its own criteria. Our recent coverage includes the latest B.C. provincial draw.
