A former People’s Party of Canada candidate for Burnaby South appeared to support the execution of journalists on her Facebook page.

During the campaign, Marcella Williams had posted a video saying she was running to serve, defend and protect “people who value their rights and freedoms.” That apparently doesn’t include journalists.
Williams, who goes by Marcella Desjarlais on her Facebook page, posted an internet meme that wrongly claimed members of the media were prosecuted during the Nuremberg trials and put to death for lying to the public.
In a comment accompanying the post, Williams wrote: “Should happen again!”
The post has since been taken down.
Some mask and COVID-19 vaccine opponents have invoked the Nazi regime when protesting against public health restrictions imposed during the pandemic. The Nuremberg trials, which took place immediately after the Second World War, ended with a military tribunal sentencing 12 Nazi officials to death for war crimes committed during the conflict.
