Honda is recalling 2025 and 2026 CRF450L, CRF250L, CRF250R, CRF250X, CRF450X and CRF450R motorcycles in Canada because replacement handlebar holders installed during dealer service may not have been made properly, Transport Canada said.
The holders may fail to secure the handlebar, which could let it move while riding. Transport Canada said that could cause a loss of steering control and increase the risk of a crash.
The recall applies to certain motorcycles that had replacement handlebar under holders fitted during dealer service. The notice lists the bikes as competition vehicles. It does not say how many are affected in Canada.
Honda will notify owners by mail and ask them to bring the motorcycle to a dealership, where the handlebar under holders will be replaced. The notice gives no timeline for the letters.
The notice, number 2026-488, was first posted Oct. 8 and updated Oct. 16 on the Government of Canada’s recalls and safety alerts site. It replaces Transport Canada recall 2026-115. It is a voluntary recall and was not conducted under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Riders who have had handlebar parts replaced at a dealer on one of the listed models can contact a Honda dealer to find out whether their motorcycle is included.
It is one of several vehicle recalls posted this month. Ford has also recalled 2025-26 F-150 trucks over loose driver seat bolts, and Mercedes-Benz is recalling S-Class sedans over a brake hose leak risk.
