The most expensive house we could confirm for sale on the Island of Montreal is still the former residence of industrialist J.W. McConnell in the Golden Square Mile, asking $29.5 million. The seven priciest homes from October all remain on Centris at the same prices, and two listings we did not carry in October join below them.
What changed since October: Compared with our October list, two homes are new and two have left. A $13.99-million house beside Westmount Park enters at No. 8, and an $11-million house in Outremont enters at No. 9. We did not list either in October and cannot say when they first went on sale. A Westmount house on Croissant Gordon cut its price by $950,000, to $9.95 million from $10.9 million, and now sits at No. 10. An Upper Westmount stone house at an unchanged $9.5 million falls to 11th, out of the top 10, and remains on Centris. The link we used for a $7.5-million Georgian-style house in Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce no longer opens that listing; the home no longer appears at that source.
The Bank of Canada raised its policy rate by a quarter point to 2.5 per cent on Oct. 28, and CREA reported that national sales fell 7.7 per cent from a year earlier in September as it cut its 2026 forecast for a third time. For the country’s top asking prices, see our national list.
How we built this list, and its limits: We ranked detached houses on the Island of Montreal by asking price, opening each Centris listing individually on Nov. 4, 2026. We could not view a complete island-wide ranking by price on Centris, so we rechecked every October listing and searched for others in the island’s highest-priced areas, including the Golden Square Mile, Westmount, Outremont, the Town of Mount Royal, Senneville and Baie-d’Urfé. A higher-priced listing may have been missed, and this ranking should be read with that in mind. Condos and income properties are excluded. We make no claim about who owns these homes today; the McConnell connection comes from the listing.
A note on photos: listing photos belong to the brokerages and photographers who made them, so we do not republish them. Please use the link in each entry to see the real home.
