The NHL and Fanatics unveiled Hometown Remix special-edition uniforms for all 32 clubs on Monday, including black, oil-themed jerseys for the Edmonton Oilers and a nine-game schedule for the Calgary Flames.
The Oilers said the uniform was designed with Fanatics, the league’s on-ice uniform provider, and the NHL, and marks the end of a two-year development process. Edmonton will wear it seven times in 2026-27, starting Nov. 5 when the Oilers host the Anaheim Ducks at Rogers Place, the team said in a release.
The Oilers described their version as a “slick, black, oil aesthetic” built around the city’s “Oil Country” identity. The shoulder patches read “Oil Country” on the left and carry the oil rig worker on the right, and the hem reads “This is Oil Country” between warning bars, the team said.
The Flames said their uniform celebrates the fans, culture and fabric of Calgary and the Scotiabank Saddledome. Calgary will wear it nine times, all at home, beginning Nov. 6 against Anaheim.
The Flames listed the rest of the dates: Nov. 8 against the Philadelphia Flyers, Nov. 11 against the New York Rangers, Dec. 3 against the Buffalo Sabres, Dec. 5 against the Washington Capitals, Dec. 8 against the Nashville Predators, Jan. 12 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Jan. 14 against the San Jose Sharks and Jan. 16 against the Los Angeles Kings.
“Hometown Remix builds on that legacy in a fresh and authentic way, celebrating the fans, culture and communities that make each NHL market unique,” said Brian Jennings, the NHL’s senior executive vice-president and chief partnerships and club strategy officer.
Dom Fillion, Fanatics’ vice-president of creative design, said the program is the most exciting initiative the company has delivered with its partners since it began outfitting the league in 2024. He said each design was built with the club involved to feel “authentic and personal.”
Both the on-ice Authentic Pro and Premium jerseys went on sale Monday, along with headwear and men’s and women’s fan gear such as hoodies, tees and new fleece and outerwear styles. They are available at NHLShop.com, NHLShop.ca, Fanatics.com, team stores and the NHL Shop flagship in New York. The Oilers said their pieces are sold at Ice District Authentics in Edmonton.
The launch comes as Edmonton opens the season with a hot start. Connor McDavid pushed his season-opening point streak to 15 games in the Oilers’ 4-1 win over the Rangers on Sunday, which we covered here, and goalie Matt Tomkins stole the show in that game.
