Toronto Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet is doubtful to play against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday with a hamstring injury.
VanVleet was not at practice on Monday as he underwent further evaluation of his ailment.
The 25-year-old is also dealing with a jammed right index finger. No further details about his timeline for return have been made available by the Raptors at this time.
VanVleet is in the midst of a career-year, averaging 18 points and seven assists per game while playing 36.3 minutes per night for the Raptors throughout his 31 appearances.
Matt Thomas, though, will likely be available for Toronto against Portland.
Thomas will play for the Raptors 905, Toronto’s G League affiliate, tonight in a rehab assignment. He has been sidelined since November with a fractured finger on his left hand.
In 12 games with the Raptors this season, Thomas has averaged 4.8 points and 1.1 rebounds with a 54.1 field goal percentage.
Serge Ibaka will also suit up against Portland after tweaking his ankle during last Saturday’s win against the Brooklyn Nets.
The 30-year-old big man has averaged 14.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game throughout 26 appearances this season.
