It might be surprising to see such a comparison, especially seeing as how the newest generation of each respective console came out last year. However, rewind eight years ago, and articles of this variety were plastered over the net, and the same could be said for articles comparing the two newest consoles last year. Many will be aware that it is currently hard to buy either one of the new consoles right now and it is simply not a matter of going on to a website and clicking buy. Only those who are searching hard and for long will be able to find one, and even then, a certain degree of luck is involved.
Given the shortage of the latest generation consoles, the question that is also the title of this article makes sense. The PS4 and Xbox One, while reduced in availability, are still at least capable of being bought. While this does not apply to those who still own one of these consoles, some may have sold one of these eager to buy one of the new consoles. These people likely found disappointment on the day of release. The answer to this question may also be sought by parents who are looking to buy their children a console in the run-up to Christmas, so it is evident that a comparison of this nature is more relevant than ever.
Compared to the latest consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One are both downgrades that people will notice if they compare the old and new generations of consoles together. However, people that are buying these will likely have never experienced a PS5 or Xbox Series X, which makes this disadvantage inconsequential. While there are upgraded versions of the PS4 and Xbox One, the standard consoles represent the best value for money.
When deciding between the two consoles, one must consider what they want to use the console for predominately. The Xbox One was always devised as the ultimate hub of entertainment. This meant that while people could play great games on it, they could also use the console as a way to watch live TV and access an assortment of other apps that can normally be found on a smart TV.
On the other hand, the PS4 was always designed with gamers in mind, and there are fewer of these apps present on the console. However, there are more, better exclusive games, and the hardware is more powerful which means some games will run better on the PS4.
At the end of the day though, games will be the main deciding point for most people. Both consoles have exclusives. It will just depend on what game series they prefer. People should take note though that games such as GTA V can be played on both. This is great as GTA V is a great multiplayer game where players can even visit a casino with friends. They can then play the same kind of games that can be found at Cloud bet, where players can win real money.
It is clear that gamer purists would enjoy the PS4 more, whereas those who want more range should go for an Xbox One. Ultimately though, the game series that interest people will be the final choice in choosing a console.
