
Six new cases of the coronavirus were reported by health officials in Waterloo Region on Thursday morning.
The number of people in the region who have now been infected with the virus is 1,189.
Another seven cases are resolved, putting that total at 965.
It means there are still 109 active cases, which is one less than Wednesday.
Meantime, no additional deaths have been linked to the virus, leaving that total unchanged at 115.
The number of outbreaks at long-term care and retirement homes also remains unchanged at two – Forest Heights Revera long-term care and Beechwood Manor retirement home.
As well, two outbreaks remain active at workplaces in the region.
To date, 20 per cent of local cases have had to be hospitalized, with five per cent of those patients ending up in intensive care.
