rabble radio is back with fresh interviews after a summer hiatus where we shared some of our favourite episodes from our 20-year-old archive.

This week’s episode features interviews with two guests. First, Jim Stanford speaks with host Nick Seebruch about the current trade war with the US, Carney’s gas tax holiday, and the future of free trade in North America.

Then later, Nick speaks with Guio Jacinto, an economic researcher with the United Steelworkers, on how labour is organizing in response to the trade war.

About our guests

Jim Stanford is economist and director of the Centre for Future Work, a progressive labour economics institute based in Vancouver. He has a PhD in economics from the New School for Social Research in New York, and also holds economics degrees from Cambridge University and the University of Calgary. He is the author of Economics for Everyone, which has been translated into six languages.

Guio Jacinto is an economic researcher with the United Steelworkers in the Department of Research, Collective Bargaining and Public Policy.
