A man sits at a building entrance
with an empty can by his side.
Hoping to receive some cash needed
all he can do is try.
Is there an open-hearted person
who will assist this man today?
See his plight and anguish
and see him in his need?
The creativity of others,
who sees his need this day
silently stretch out their genius
and bring forth fruitfulness and gain.
The man is without sight,
but those who see him have a heartful
need to make his day.
A message of kindness,
a truth that others cannot deny.
One person’s assistance
brought forth a communities care.
If only we can see each other fully
and open our minds to care.
