This is the best-selling iPhone in the world – Times of India

Published

 on

Apple iPhones are one of the most-talked about, most-coveted, most-loved, most-criticised smartphones in the world. Have you ever wondered that which is the most-bought iPhone in the world? After all Apple continues to have a host of iPhones, starting from iPhone 6 to the latest iPhone 11 Pro series. According to a report released by Counterpoint Research, “iPhone XR was the top-selling model globally in Q3 2019, capturing 3% market share.” The report further reveals that iPhone XR has been the best-selling model globally in every quarter since Q4 2018.

While Apple doesn’t release number of iPhones sold, CounterPoint Research suggests that the iPhone XR “alone contributed to over one-quarter of the total Apple sales during the quarter, making it the bestselling model for Apple across all regions.” So, there you go, the iPhone XR is the best-selling iPhone in the world, as per Counterpoint Research.

Launched in September 2018 alongside the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, the iPhone XR had a starting price of s 76,900 and was pitched as an ‘affordable’ iPhone when compared to the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. A few months later after its launch there were reports that demand for iPhones had reduced. Apple then ‘unofficially’ reduced the price of the iPhone XR, in most markets, including China and India.

In India, the price of the iPhone XR dropped to effectively Rs 53,900 and several reports claimed that it was then iPhone XR picked up pace. However, Counterpoint Research’s report contradicts that in a way as it states that since Q4 2018 — the first quarter after its launch — the iPhone XR has been the top selling iPhone in the world. iPhone XR is currently priced at Rs 49,900 but during online sales or with ‘deals’ can be bought for as low as Rs 42,900.

Hitman 3 surpasses its predecessor to claim No.1 | UK Boxed Charts – GamesIndustry.biz

Published

 on

The PS5 version accounted for nearly half of the sales

Hitman 3 has taken No.1 in the UK boxed charts, with launch sales up 17% over its predecessor.

Developed and owned by IO Interactive, Hitman 3’s boxed release was handled by Square Enix, the company that previously owned the franchise before letting it go. The last game, 2018’s Hitman 2, was published by Warner Bros.

The PS5 version of the game was by far the dominant edition, accounting for 49% of sales. The Xbox version accounted for 27%, while the PS4 version made up 25%. Of course, this is just physical games, the majority of Hitman 3’s sales will have taken place in the digital download space.

Hitman’s chart-topping debut means that Animal Crossing: New Horizons drops to No.2, although only 800 games separates the two titles. Animal Crossing’s sales dropped 8% week-on-week.

Some new PS5 consoles were released in the market last week, which had a positive impact on a few titles. Spider-Man: Miles Morales is up 161%, jumping from No.12 to No.5, Demon’s Souls re-enters the charts at No.27 with a 291% sales increase, and there were sales bumps for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (up 56% and driven by the PlayStation version) and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (up 7%, but with the PS5 version up 174%). In total, PS5 game sales increased 324% week-on-week.

Another big riser was Ring Fit Adventure. The Nintendo Switch fitness game has frequently jumped up the charts during the pandemic whenever new stock comes into the market. The game rises to No.7 with a 47% sales rise.

Here is the GfK Top Ten for the week ending January 23rd:

Fixes promised for Cyberpunk 2077 | Entertainment | kelownadailycourier.ca – The Daily Courier

Published

 on

We have updates from the management of Cyberpunk 2077 and more from people who worked on the game about that disastrous and glitch-filled launch last month.

The game was changed late in development by a lot. It was changed from third person perspective to first person.

A demo many saw didn’t have anything to do with the final version.

You can’t really fault those people who were working on the game as it seems management was overly eager to release a game before it was ready.

The company head even said they didn’t run into any issues with the PS4 and Xbox One systems.

And yet, just booting the game up on those systems has a player confronted with constant crashes, disappearing environments and character faces.

Things being cut during development to meet a release date isn’t something new, but people were told years ago the game would only be released when ready — not before.

Console reviewers weren’t given a review code until release and only PC reviewers were given codes earlier. But PC reviewers were limited to including footage that the team approved.

Developers CD Projekt Red did release a road map with patches to come in a few months and the next generation version is not being released until late this year.

I hope the game can be patched to fix all the bugs. I just wish we would stop getting games in people’s hands before they are ready.

Hitman 3 Level Finished in a Mind-Boggling 9 Seconds – TechnoCodex

Two speedrunners accomplished what may be Agent 47’s most impressive feat yet and they are still trying to optimize the time even further.

How long does it take to assassinate two targets in a densely populated stage in Hitman 3? Apparently only nine seconds.

Yes, you read that correctly. Less than one week after the conclusion to the “World of Assassination” trilogy released, speedrunners Wreak and Der_Lauch_Linus finished the Dubai stage titled “On Top of the World,” in only nine seconds under the “Any%” category. The feat was accomplished by simply shooting the two targets while they talk to others in attendance immediately after they spawn. Sounds easy right?

It is certainly easier said than done. Although it is hard to imagine anyone finishing the stage quicker than that, the runners are still trying to optimize their time by more accurately lining up their shot according to VG24/7. The time has officially been verified by speedrun.com. However, being that they assassinate their targets in plain sight, they fail to receive the “Silent Assassination” rank. Don’t worry, that feat has been accomplished in only 17 seconds so it is not too far behind. If there was any doubt that Agent 47 is the world’s greatest assassin, I think this solidifies it.

To the excitement of many fans, Hitman 3 has launched to quite favorable reviews, currently holding an 88 out of 100 on Metacritic. In Dualshockers’ own review we awarded the game an 8 out of 10, saying “When all the pieces line up and your plans come together, the end result is a delight to witness,” and “For those who are already fans… this should be just what the unusual doctor with the barcode tattoo ordered.” Developer IO Interactive also revealed on Twitter that the game had the series’ most successful launch to date, boasting high review scores and revealing that the final game in the trilogy had the biggest digital launch in the franchise’s history.

Hitman 3 is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch and PC.
