Person presented at a Grey Bruce Health Services hospital emergency room with mild respiratory symptoms and had recent travel history to a region affected by outbreak.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit says they tested a visitor to the region for coronavirus and the results came back negative.
They say that an individual came into a Grey Bruce hospital emergency room with respiratory symptoms and identified as recently visiting a region affected by the outbreak.
The individual was sent home with instructions to self-isolate. According to the Grey Bruce Health Unit, the person has since recovered.
Negative test results were received from the Public Health Ontario Lab. They were confirmed by a second test at the National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg.
“The risk to residents in Grey and Bruce remains low. We are continually reassessing public health risk and working to keep it low,” says a statement from the health unit.
The Health Unit says they have protocols in place to deal with suspected cases of coronavirus and this is an example of those protocols working
