Two weeks from today, Newfoundland and Labrador could see more restrictions lifted by moving to Alert Level 3.
The provincial government has changed some regulations ahead of the date, like allowing pet groomers to open as of today, in addition to tennis courts.
However, other measures still remain in effect — a partner or support person is only allowed to stay for four hours after a woman has given birth. In addition, no outside visitors to residents of long-term care facilities are permitted.
Ahead of Monday’s briefing, the province’s total number of cases remains at 260. By region, there are 242 cases in the Eastern Health region, eight cases in the Central Health region, four cases in the Western Health region and six cases in the Labrador-Grenfell Health region.
There are three active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and there have been three deaths from the virus.
The government has said it will hold live updates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The other days of the week, the information related to the COVID-19 cases, including the number of new cases or other details, will be sent out via email.
