The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is stopping a pair of doctors from issuing medical exemptions to COVID vaccines, testing or mask requirements.
The restrictions imposed on Dr. Mark Trozzi and Dr. Rochagne Kilian went into effect over the weekend.
According to the college, the orders were issued under the Regulated Health Professions Act.
That act allows restrictions on a member’s licence if the college believes the doctor’s actions “expose or is likely to expose patients to harm or injury.”
Both doctors must also post signs in their office informing patients of the restrictions.
The signs must also be displayed during virtual visits with patients.
Although the doctors are no longer allowed to issue exemptions, the college says they have not been referred to their tribunal at this time.
Public records show Kilian is a family doctor in Owen Sound. There is no publicly listed practice or specialty for Trozzi.
