There is a movement developing here, against guns, weapons and merchants of death. Like BLM, crowds are in the streets protesting the continual criminality associated with Guns and the murder of innocents.
We should have realized by now that our national governments are too tight with the Gun Manufacturing Lobby. Too much cash flowing within the halls of Washington. These people, the so-called caretakers of America have not been able to work with each other for decades, let alone take on an issue of such importance as Gun Control, Gun Laws and The Protection of The People from the misuse of said guns.
Gun Lobby’s doled out $6 million + to the Republican Party(supporters of NRA) while only $106,000.00 to The Democrats(Opponents of The NRA) in 2016. The cash flows in many ways, cash directly to the candidates and members of Congress, The House and Senate, and also to the Political Parties of choice.
Wonder how many envelopes of cash are handed out at “meetings” and consultations throughout the year.
*Remember folks, that should a candidate raise $5 million, but spend only 2 Million, that person can keep the balance tax-free. Really! why else would so many people run for office? To Serve the People? Yah right!. Ever wonder how a President of the USA who when first elected was worth $3 million, after four years retires with a @$135 million dollar bank account? Wrote a few books perhaps and kept his spare change, or perhaps his hands were out to every lobbyist that pursued him in office.
The only way we can bring in the gun lobby, and control the large proliferation of weaponry in North America is if the Local Government takes these agents of death on. Local City, Municipal and County Governments can ban guns in their locality. They can establish gun control measures, and investigate those who have weaponry(make sure they are of sound mind). Local Police Forces would be happy to assist their employers in taking away or controlling the gun culture. Local Governments can also throw the book at criminals that used firearms while committing a crime.
Gun Lobby/Manufacturers vs Local Government
Your Local Government is the only public agency left capable of making changes to its bylaws, making it more difficult to acquire weaponry. If you want to buy a shotgun or long rifle to go hunting with your folks, then assuredly you’d have no problem meeting a police officer, being investigated, questioned and trained to handle a said gun. Congressmen, House Representatives and Senators cannot understand the need for such a practice(to be busy counting their wrongfully begotten gains?), but your Mayor, Council Members and Aldermen will understand that a little inconvenience will go a long way in protecting both the gun owner and the community.
Only Your Local Governments can pressure Federal Public authorities to bring about national gun reform. Those in Washington are energized when their jobs are on the line. Nothing puts the fear of God into these opportunists than the Grass Roots of America taking them on, pressuring for “Real” change to our gun laws. The NRA donated/gave/slipped into the hands of Your Congressman, House Member and Senator over $307 Million dollars in the last two years. The NRA has outspent those who propose gun control, by 40 to 1.
What does a local government need to do to keep their community safe?
1. Enact a directive that all weapons be placed in safe places(gun cabinets) not the back of a truck or shoe boxes.
2. Gun owners need to be interviewed by the Police every 5 years and also they must prove their weapons are stored safely.
3. Potentially New gun owners need to go through an agreed process mentioned above before they acquire possession of a gun.
4. The Gun lobby’s influence in the Capital of Washington and many State Legislatures must be curtailed, and monies are given limited. There needs to be a firm stoppage of the direct and indirect bribery of our elected officials.
5. Outlaw the manufacture and sale of assault Weapons to the Citizenry. Only sales to Police Authorities and the Military are to be legally allowed (look to Canada’s attempt to control such weapons).
American Freedom comes from its very roots, the People. It is that root that can change the direction it is going towards, a future where there will be more guns on the street than American Citizens. George Washington saw weapons as a tool to achieve the American Dream. What is your dream for America?
