Avoid the crowds
And while you can’t always avoid the crowds on vacation, the report shows Tuesdays tend to be the quietest for flying, while Fridays are often the busiest.
If you want to avoid high volume days, skip travelling on Aug. 1 and 15, June 27 or Oct. 10. The quietest travel days are Nov. 25, Dec. 10, April 8 and June 10.
The three busiest airports for departures in Canada based on Expedia’s booked data for flights flown are: Toronto (YYZ), Vancouver (YVR) and Montreal (YUL). And these three airports are seeing increased flight bookings: Thunder Bay, Ont. (+37 per cent)), Kelowna, B.C. (+13 per cent) and St. John’s, N.L. (+11 per cent).
