Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada invited 752 provincial nominees to apply for permanent residence in an Express Entry draw on Oct. 13, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 772.
The round is listed on the department’s Express Entry rounds of invitations page. CIC News, which reported the results, said it was the 60th Express Entry selection round of 2026.
Only candidates who hold a provincial nomination were eligible. A nomination adds 600 points to a candidate’s CRS score, which is why cut-offs in provincial nominee rounds are far higher than in other draws.
The tie-breaking rule applied at the cut-off. Candidates with a score of 772 were ranked by when they created their Express Entry profile, and only those who submitted before 1:57:33 p.m. UTC on July 15, 2026, were invited. The timestamp adds no points and is not a second score threshold.
Candidates who received an invitation to apply must submit a complete permanent residence application within the deadline stated in their invitation. Candidates who did not receive one stay in the pool until their profile expires, and their profile can be updated at any time.
CIC News said candidates who apply for permanent residence through Express Entry may qualify for a bridging open work permit if their current permit is about to expire. Eligibility rules are set by the department. The details are on the IRCC website.
