
Health Minister Adrian Dix provided an update Tuesday on B.C.’s plan to restart elective surgeries after all were cancelled back in March to clear hospital space amidst COVID-19 concerns.
Officials have said it would take 17 to 24 months to clear a backlog of more than 30,000 cancelled procedures, which resumed on May 18, at an estimated cost of another $250 million.

On Tuesday, health officials said the backlog can be cleared in 15 months.
