Apple launched the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max with titanium in their build last September. A new report claims that this fall, we’ll see new colors in the range. And one of the colors is quite a departure.
Right now, the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max come in four colors, all with the word titanium in them. There’s natural titanium, blue titanium, white titanium and black titanium.
According to a new rumor on Weibo, picked up by leaker ShrimpApplePro on X, one of those colors are going to vanish this fall and the other three will be modfied. This is a bigger change than many had expected: in the past, the range of colors in the Pro series has stayed the same for several years, or one extra hero color has been added.
So, what’s planned for 2024?
According to the leak, blue titanium and natural titanium will not be continued into the next series of iPhones. They’ll be dropped completely.
You may have spotted last fall that there was no gold iPhone in the Pro range, the first time since the iPhone X launched. From the iPhone Xs onwards, gold was part of the color range.
The leak claims that rose will be one of the colors in the iPhone 16 Pro’s wardrobe and will be the only completely new shade on offer. Rose may be as close to gold as we’re going to get, for now, at least. Apple has had several rose gold shades before and it may be that rose on a titanium antenna band will have a golden luster.
The second color will be gray, which may be a version of the natural titanium we’ve seen in the iPhone 15 Pro range. Personally, I love the natural titanium, so I hope they don’t change it too much from that.

(function() function createUniqueId() return ‘xxxxxxxx-xxxx-4xxx-yxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx’.replace(/[xy]/g, function(c) var r = Math.random() * 16 ); const randId = createUniqueId(); document.getElementsByClassName(‘fbs-cnx’)[0].setAttribute(‘id’, randId); document.getElementById(randId).removeAttribute(‘class’); (new Image()).src = ‘https://capi.connatix.com/tr/si?token=d1021730-df4b-4127-8be2-fb6a0e4e96e4’; cnxps.cmd.push(function () cnxps( playerId: ‘d1021730-df4b-4127-8be2-fb6a0e4e96e4’).render(randId); ); )();
White titanium is gorgeous and that’s continuing, but it looks like it’s going to be slightly tweaked as well. If you thought white is white is white, maybe Apple can convince you it can change the hue.
And finally, there’s space black, which will replace the current black option. Space black is a favorite Apple shade, and may well be the perennial bestseller. But the name suggests it’s going to be a darker shade of black, or perhaps an optical illusion created by a different level of shine in it.
If you’re disappointed by how discreet these colors are going to be, remember that the current Pro crop is also demurely understated, and the (slightly) brighter colors are kept for the iPhone 15 range. Perhaps this year’s phones will mirror that.
More as we have it.
