Baby Brezza sterilizer dryer recalled, 6,001 sold in Canada

Health Canada has recalled the Baby Brezza SuperFast Sterilizer Dryer, model BRZ0083, because the baby bottle sterilizer can overheat when plugged in and in use, posing fire and burn hazards.

The importer reported selling 6,001 units in Canada between September 2023 and November 2026, according to the Government of Canada recall notice (RA-82894), published Nov. 5. About 29,000 units were sold in the United States. The notice does not say which retailers sold the product.

The model number, BRZ0083, is on a label on the underside of the unit. The UPC, 886267008313, is on the packaging. The device sterilizes and dries baby bottles, parts and accessories.

As of Oct. 29, the importer had received 20 reports in Canada of the unit overheating and melting. No injuries were reported in Canada. In the United States, there have been 32 reports and no injuries.

Owners should stop using the sterilizer dryer immediately and contact EI Brand Management Inc., the Saint-Laurent, Que., importer, for a free replacement. The company can be reached at [email protected] or through its recall page. The notice lists no phone number.

The product was made in China for Baby Brezza Enterprises LLC of Newark, N.J. The recall is joint with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, it is illegal to sell, redistribute or give away a recalled product in Canada, and consumers can report incidents to Health Canada through its consumer product incident report form.

The recall was one of several fire-hazard recalls announced this week, as reported by CTV News. Others included Bose S1 Pro battery packs and Newdery power banks sold on Amazon.ca.
