BC Transit is joining a growing list of B.C. corporations who are making COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for employees.
In a brief statement Friday morning, BC Transit president and CEO Erinn Pinkerton says the decision continue to align its protocols with those of the provincial health officer and WorksafeBC.
“The organization, following the province’s announcement Oct. 5, is moving forward with requiring all of our employees, including employees with our operating companies and contractors, to be fully vaccinated and able to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination as of Nov. 29,” said Pinkerton in a brief statement.
“This new policy is an additional measure to keep everyone safe and provide reassurance to our customers.
“We will follow up with employees with more details on the policy over the coming weeks.”
Translink made a similar announcement Friday morning, while BC Hydro announced Thursday all its employees would be required to be fully vaccinated by Jan. 10 of next year.
