The Eastern Ontario health unit says it has been testing its long-term care homes and the results have been coming in steadily with most being negative.
In a press release sent out Sunday afternoon, the EOHU says it is testing the remainder of all of their EOHU regions long-term care homes this coming week.
So far, from their new screening testing, they have had one long-term care with positive cases, aside from Pinecrest. The current guidelines deem an institution to be an outbreak with one or more cases.
As a result, the EOHU says it now has two long long-term care homes that have declared an outbreak.
Pinecrest has 13 cases, while Woodland Villa near Lunenburg, Ont. has less than five cases, all of which are asymptomatic.
