Is the Google Pixel 11 Pro worth it?
For the right buyer, yes. The Pixel 11 Pro is Google’s flagship, and the gap between it and the standard Pixel 11 is mostly about the camera. The Pro listing shows a 50 megapixel main camera, a 48 megapixel ultrawide and a 48 megapixel telephoto lens with up to 120x zoom. The Pixel 11 listing shows a 48 megapixel main camera, a 13 megapixel ultrawide and a 10.8 megapixel telephoto with 30x zoom. If you take a lot of photos of kids, pets, hockey rinks or faraway scenery, that telephoto hardware is the reason to pay more.
The second reason is longevity. The listing says Google will supply seven years of operating system and security updates, plus regular Pixel Drops with new features. A phone bought now would be supported into 2033. For people who keep a phone for four or five years, that matters more than any single spec, because it keeps the phone secure and current long after warranty-era excitement fades.
The third reason is the software. Google markets the phone around Gemini Intelligence, which it describes as help that works across your apps while keeping data private. We have not used it, so we cannot say how well it works day to day. What we can say is that it is a core selling point rather than an add-on, and that buyers who do not care for AI features will be paying for something they may not use.

Google Pixel 11 Pro picks
No. 1, best for camera and long-term support: Google Pixel 11 Pro. This is the phone for buyers who want Google’s strongest camera system. The listing shows a 6.3 inch Super Actua display with a 120 hertz refresh rate, a 1280 by 2856 resolution, 12 GB of memory in this 256 GB configuration, dual SIM with a nano SIM and eSIM, and IP68 dust and water resistance. Google lists a 42 megapixel front camera, wireless charging through Pixelsnap, and a feature called HiLight that glows when your favourite contacts call while the phone is face down. It is unlocked, so you can bring it to any Canadian carrier.
The catch is the rating. At the time of checking, the listing showed 3.8 stars from only 16 ratings. That is a very small sample for a phone that has only just arrived, and it is not enough to say how owners feel about it. Treat the number as early and unsettled, and read the newest reviews on the listing before you buy. The price has also been moving, since the listing shows a $1,499 list price that Amazon.ca currently discounts by $300.

No. 2, best for saving $200: Google Pixel 11. The standard Pixel 11 is listed at $999 against a $1,249 list price, shipped and sold by Amazon.ca, and the listing carried a limited-time deal tag when we checked. It uses the same Tensor G6 chip and the same 6.3 inch size, and Amazon lists it with 12 GB of memory. You give up the larger telephoto camera, the 120x zoom and 8K video, and the front camera drops from 42 to 10.5 megapixels. Its 4.3 star rating rests on 12 ratings, so the same caution applies.

Pixel 11 Pro vs Pixel 11: which one?
The two phones share a chip, a screen size and a seven-year update promise, so the decision comes down to the camera and the price. If photography is a hobby, or you want to zoom far into a scene, the Pro’s extra telephoto hardware is the clearest upgrade you can see on paper. If you mostly take everyday snapshots and share them on social media, the $200 saved on the Pixel 11 buys a protective case, a charger and a screen protector with room to spare. The Pro also offers up to 16 GB of memory on some configurations, though the 256 GB Obsidian model we checked lists 12 GB.

Who should skip the Pixel 11 Pro?
Skip it if you are happy with a phone you already own that still receives updates, because most of the gain here is in the camera and in new AI features rather than in anything you will need to survive daily use. Skip it if you want an iPhone’s ecosystem, since the Pixel works best alongside Google services. Skip it if your budget is under about $700, because Amazon.ca also lists the Pixel 10a at $679, which Google’s own comparison table shows with a 48 megapixel main camera and a 13 megapixel ultrawide, though with a previous-generation chip and no telephoto lens. We do not link that listing here, but it is worth a look if price is the priority.
Is there a cheaper alternative to the Pixel 11 Pro?
Yes. The Pixel 11 above is the closest step down, at $200 less. Past that, last year’s Pixel 10 Pro also appears on Amazon.ca at $1,055, but that listing is sold by a third-party seller rather than by Amazon.ca or Google, so we have not linked it. If you want a different brand, our look at the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra covers Samsung’s equivalent flagship.
When is the best time to buy a phone in Canada?
As a general pattern, phones see their lowest prices of the year around Black Friday, which falls on Nov. 27 in 2026, and again around Boxing Day and Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days. Newly released models are discounted less often than older ones. Amazon.ca already shows a $300 reduction from list on the Pixel 11 Pro, so a deeper cut is possible but not guaranteed. If you need the phone now, waiting three weeks is a gamble in both directions. We do not know what any retailer will charge on Black Friday, and we would rather say so than guess.
How we chose. We searched Amazon.ca for the current Google Pixel Pro and standard models, opened each listing on Nov. 2, 2026 and recorded the price, rating and number of ratings shown. We linked only listings shipped and sold by Amazon.ca, and left out a third-party Pixel 10 Pro listing. Specifications come from Amazon.ca’s product detail and comparison tables. Because the phones are new, the number of ratings is small, so we did not draw conclusions from owner reviews. We did not test either phone.
