Manitoba’s Matt Dunstone wins first-ever Brier title

Third time was the charm for Matt Dunstone at the Brier.

After reaching the final in both 2023 and 2025, Dunstone will finally take home the 2026 Brier title with a 6-3 victory over Kevin Koe’s Team Alberta.

The Manitoba champions consist of Colton Lott at third, E.J. Harnden at second, and Ryan Harnden as the lead.

Dunstone scored a rare three-ender in the seventh end after blanking two consecutive ends to take the lead. Although slim, he held control of the scoreboard as he sat four in the eighth end and forced Koe to take just one before adding a deuce in the ninth.

Koe’s second-place team consists of third Tyler Tardi, second Aaron Sluchinski, and lead Karrick Martin.
