Male arrested after Jeep recovered
A Guelph male has been arrested four months after two people were caught on camera abandoning a stolen Jeep.
The early morning of July 18, the Guelph Police Service was notified a 2021 Jeep which had been reported stolen from a dealership in Waterloo had been tracked to a business address on Woodlawn Road West.
The Jeep was recovered. A review of surveillance video showed a male and female exiting the vehicle and then cleaning the interior before walking away. The male was determined to be bound by a number of court orders, including a driving prohibition, curfew and a bail condition not to have contact with the female.
On Wednesday morning, the male was arrested by another police service and returned to Guelph. A 57-year-old Guelph male is charged with possessing stolen property over $5,000, driving while prohibited, two counts of breaching probation, four counts of breaching a release order and failing to comply with an undertaking. He was held for a bail hearing Friday.
Electronics stolen during school break-in
The Guelph Police Service is investigating after more than $4,500 in electronics were stolen during a break and enter at a school.
Police were called just after 9 a.m. Wednesday to a school near Guelph Street and Paisley Road. Staff had arrived to find a portable was entered sometime overnight. A quantity of laptop computers, tablets and projectors were reported stolen.

Car stolen, credit cards used
The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a car was stolen and the owner’s credit cards later used.
Approximately 8 a.m. Wednesday, a Guelph female called to report her blue 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse had been stolen from her driveway overnight near Dimson Avenue and Hands Drive. The complainant advised her purse was in the vehicle.
Later Wednesday, the victim called police to report her credit cards had been used at a business on Speedvale Avenue East. A male was captured on surveillance video. He is described as white and wearing a black puffy winter jacket with hood, Blue Jays baseball cap, sunglasses and a camouflage facemask.
