A new HGTV Canada real estate show has a connection to Mississauga.
The show, ‘Hot Market’, follows five real estate agents in the GTA/Lake Simcoe area looking to sell and showcase luxury homes.
One of those agents, Rana Khaled is a Mississauga resident.
Khaled, who entered the world of real estate in 2014, said that her career was “meant to be.”
She started out in the world of fashion, creating a clothing line with her sister in Montreal.
After several years in the business, she felt it was time to move on and switch things up and made the decision to move to Toronto.
Looking for her own place in the city inspired her to think about becoming a real estate agent.
“I built myself in the first year. People appreciated (my) hard work and hustle,” she said.
From there, she made contacts and forged relationships, enough to win the rookie of the year award.
Now with ‘Hot Market’, she believes her journey has come full circle.
“I always knew I’d be on TV one day,” she said while laughing.
The first few takes of the show made Rana feel nervous, but she eventually got used to the setup and came into her own.
Though ‘Hot Market’ looks like a reality TV show, Rana affirms that nothing about it is fiction.
“The clients you see are my real clients. Nothing was fake about it,” she said.
So, was there any conflict with her co-stars? Nope.
“We all get along together. There is no drama.”
Catch ‘Hot Market’ on Tuesdays on HGTV Canada.
