Oppo Reno 6 Series India Launch Today, See Specs & Expected Price – Gizchina.com

Published

 on

Oppo Reno 6 series featuring the Reno 6 and the Reno 6 Pro 5G is slated to launch in India today. While the Chinese consumer electronics company will be launching two smartphones, the upcoming series will include three phones. It can be recalled that Oppo launched only one phone in the Reno 5 series in January.

Regrettably, the popular phone maker doesn’t plan to launch the top-end Reno series phone, dubbed the Reno 6 Pro+ in the country. Aside from that, the company is also gearing up to launch the Enco X truly wireless earbuds at the launch event, according to BGR. Oppo launched the Reno 6 series in May in its home country, China.

While there are negligible differences between the three Reno 6 phones, the steeply-priced Reno 6 Pro+ will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. The company’s decision to not bring the most expensive Reno 6 series phone to India is quite unusual. Last year, the company failed to successfully launch the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro in the country.

Aside from the Reno 6 Pro+, Oppo has still not announced the Find X3 series in India, although it launched globally about five months ago. The popular handset maker is likely to divulge more details about their decision during the upcoming event

Oppo Reno 6 Series India Launch & Availability

The launch event will kick off at 3 PM IST on July 14. In addition to the Reno 6 series, Oppo will announce a new model of the Enco X earbuds. You can watch the live stream of the event on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. An unboxing video of the Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G revealed its price earlier this week.

The MRP mentioned on the box shown In the video is INR 46,990 (about $630). The Reno 6 Pro 5G, on the other hand, is likely to retail for a lower price. Details about the price of the Reno 6 are still scarce. However, the Reno 6 sells for CNY 2,799 (about $432) in China. The Reno 6 Pro 5G carries a CNY 3,499 (about $540).

Oppo Reno 6, Reno 6 Pro Specs

The Oppo Reno 6 features a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It packs a MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC and ships with 12GB of RAM. The phone offers a hearty 256GB of internal storage capacity. Furthermore, it runs Android 11 OS with ColorOS 11 on top.

On the photography front, the Reno 6 houses a triple camera layout with a 64MP camera, along with a 32MP snapper embedded inside the punch-hole cutout upfront. Moreover, the device draws its juices from a 4,300mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. It supports biometrics authentication through an in-display fingerprint reader.

The Oppo Reno 6 Pro sports a slightly larger 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It packs a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC, paired with 12GB of RAM and a hefty 256GB of onboard storage capacity. The phone’s software and camera configurations are the same as the standard model. On top of that, it features a larger 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. Both models come with 5G connectivity support.

Fullbright Co-Founder Steps Down Following Toxic Workplace Allegations – TechRaptor

Published

 on

Steve Gaynor, Fullbright’s co-founder, has stepped down as the studio’s manager and creative lead following a series of allegations surrounding a toxic culture within the studio. Gaynor transitioned from his creative lead to a role as a writer as of March of this year according to a Fullbright representative, who spoke to Polygon

Open Roads‘ official Twitter account raised alarm bells when it posted a statement regarding the workplace culture and how the company was going to move forward, citing the importance of a “healthy and collaborative environment”. According to the statement, the decision was made for the health of the entire company, relinquishing daily responsibilities to the remaining staff.

Open Roads, the studio’s current in-development project has sustained major setbacks as 15 former employees have left the company since development on the game began in 2019, leaving only six staff members. Of the 15 that have left, 12 did so directly because of Gaynor’s behavior toward women. At least 10 of those that left because of his behavior were women, which lines up with multiple anonymous reports concerning what it’s like to work underneath Gaynor.

The anonymous reports haven’t cited issues such as sexual misconduct or outright sexism. The toxic work environment is reportedly “controlling”, with female employees bearing the brunt of Gaynor’s dismissive and condescending attitude. Gaynor was beyond difficult to work with, cited as making jokes at the expense of his employees in front of others. He’d repeatedly laugh at and embarrass women in front of coworkers while micromanaging women in leadership roles to the point that they felt their creativity, as well as their ability to work, was stifled.

The studio had attempted a mediator between Gaynor and his team as a means of de-escalating the situation, but it only served as a temporary solution. The team didn’t feel respected enough under Gaynor’s leadership, leading to him stepping down to a remote writing role, relinquishing his prior duties to others in leadership.

Under the current state of affairs, Gaynor is working on his writing role separately from the core staff. Instead of continuing to work within the same offices, Open Roads’ publisher, Annapurna Interactive, is communicating between the two parties to avoid further friction. Under this set of circumstances, Gaynor no longer has daily collaboration with Fullbright.

After the story broke out from Polygon, Gaynor released his own statement through a Twitter thread on his own account. According to him, these working conditions have given him the “space and perspective” to reconsider how he approaches leadership.

“Hi all. I have a statement to share about my role at Fullbright.

Earlier this year, I stepped back from my role as creative lead on Open Roads. My leadership style was hurtful to people that worked at Fullbright, and for that I truly apologize.

Stepping back has given me space and perspective to see how my role needs to change and how I need to learn and improve as part of a team, including working with an expert management consultant, and rethinking my relationship to the work at Fullbright.

I care deeply about Open Roads and the Fullbright team. I’m sad to have stepped back from day-to-day development of Open Roads, but it’s been the right thing to do. The Open Roads team has my full fiath and support as they bring the game to completion.”

Given how many people have left because of Gaynor, some might be wondering why he hasn’t been fired. As the studio’s co-founder, being fired isn’t such a simple thing to do. He wasn’t a person that stepped into a leadership role divorced from the studio’s creation. His own personal Twitter account served as the official Fullbright handle for over a decade. The team created @FullbrightGames,  created May 2021, around when Gaynor stepped down, as the studio’s Twitter handle moving forward.

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro official wallpapers revealed; display resolutions deciphered – Notebookcheck.net

Published

 on

9to5Google has also deduced the resolutions of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, based on the size of the punch holes in their respective backgrounds. Supposedly, the Pixel 6 has a 2,400 x 1,080-pixel display, 60 pixels taller than the 1080p panel of the Pixel 5. If this is the case, then the Pixel 6’s 6.4-inch display has a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 411 DPI.

Meanwhile, 9to5Google claims that the Pixel 6 Pro will operate natively at 3,120 x 1,440 pixels, making it 80 pixels taller than the Pixel 4 XL, Google’s last 1440p smartphone. The Pixel 4 XL may have a more pixel-dense display though, albeit only marginally. Based on 9to5Google’s findings, the Pixel 6 Pro has a 513 DPI display, compared to the 537 PPI that the Pixel 4 XL offers. Nonetheless, the Pixel 6 Pro supports 120 Hz, which is beyond the Pixel 4 XL’s capabilities.

PlayStation VR 2 to Offer OLED HDR Displays, 110-Degree Field of View: Report – Gadgets 360

Published

 on

PlayStation VR 2 will reportedly have two OLED displays that will support high-dynamic-range (HDR) video — that should make it brighter, more vibrant with an expanded colour spectrum, and capable of deeper blacks and more powerful whites. The original PSVR headset had a standard-dynamic-range (SDR) LCD display. The next-gen PlayStation virtual reality headset will also reportedly offer a 110-degree field of view, up 10 degrees from the first model and 20 degrees more than what the Oculus Quest 2 does. As for the dual controllers, PSVR 2 will feature sensors that can even detect how far your fingers are from the controller.

YouTube channel PSVR Without Parole brings word of new details about PlayStation VR 2 that is being designed exclusively for the next-gen PlayStation 5, citing a private developer conference held by Sony. UploadVR has confirmed that the conference took place earlier this week. This adds to what we have already known about PSVR 2, with UploadVR revealing in May that the next-gen PlayStation VR headset would offer a resolution of 2000×2040 per eye, for a total 4K resolution. The Quest 2 does 1832×1920 per eye. PSVR 2 will still need a cable though.

PSVR 2 will support foveated rendering that reduces rendering workload with the help of eye-tracking, and might also do flexible scaling resolution. Together, this should ensure better performance, as the PlayStation VR 2 will only render what you are looking at, thereby getting more power out of PS5. The controllers, in addition to distance tracking, will reportedly have haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and capacitive touch sensors for the thumb, index, and middle fingers.

And since it’s talking to game developers, Sony has said that it wants “hybrid” AAA titles that will work both on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR 2. Think of what No Man’s Sky, Hitman 3, and Resident Evil 7 have done on PS4 and PS5. This would allow PS5 owners to decide whether they wish to play a game in standard TV mode or in virtual reality.

PlayStation VR 2 is expected in late 2022, per Bloomberg, though the new report says more details will be announced in early 2022.
