PRINCE GEORGE – This week, CKPG celebrated its 76th anniversary on the radio airwaves.
In 1946 CKPG 1230 AM was the first radio station in our community and moved to 550 AM the following year.
In 1961, CKPG Radio also launched the city’s first television station, CKPG-TV. In 1981, a sister FM station, CIOI, was established.
In September 2021, CKDV-FM rebranded to “99.3 Rewind Radio,” retaining the classic hits format.
Harry Miller is a writer and editor based in Toronto who has Ten years of experience in the journalism industry. Before coming to Canada News Media as a National Online Journalist, Miller worked as a senior writer and a reporter-editor with the Canadian Press and a breaking news reporter with the Toronto Star.
