Boucher signed a one-year deal with the Celtics this past off-season after seven seasons in Toronto. He hasn’t had much of an opportunity with the Celtics, appearing in just nine games.
The Canadian is averaging 2.3 points and two rebounds on the season.
Boucher, 33, held averages of 8.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game during his time in Toronto. He was a member of the 2019 roster that won the NBA Championship.
The move saves Boston some money on the tax and opens up a roster spot.
