Senators’ Linus Ullmark skates with team, ‘approaching’ return

“He’s been around the rink. He skated this morning. All positive as he’s, hopefully, approaching getting back with the team,” Green said.

Ullmark has been on personal leave since Dec. 29.

The 32-year-old Swede has a 14-8-5 record this season with an .881 save percentage and 2.95 goals-against average.

His leave became the subject of online rumours recently, prompting the Senators to release a statement from general manager Steve Staios that referred to “trolls” and “sick people” as the source.

Meanwhile, amid increased struggles in net, the Senators signed goalie James Reimer to a one-year contract on Monday.

Ottawa, which has lost four straight games, returns to the ice Tuesday when it hosts the similarly struggling Vancouver Canucks.
