In 1972, Atari, a computer company, released a game called Pong.
As the name suggests, it was inspired by ping pong, where two players use paddles to hit a small ball back and forth on a tabletop.
But with Pong, there was a twist: There was no need for a tabletop, paddles or balls.. Instead, Pong could be played completely on a machine.
Needless to say, video games have gotten a bit more interesting since then.
In fact, video games have become so popular that, since 2014, they’ve had their own award show!
So, ahead of the 2023 Game Awards on Dec. 7, we decided to look at some fun facts about the world of video games!
