The Trump Administration wants to annex Greenland. President Trump had shown his interest in Canada becoming a member of the US Union, but why Greenland?
Greenland is a possession of Denmark, a member of the EU Community. For hundreds of years, Denmark and Greenland cemented their relationship peacefully. If you visit Greenland you will quickly find out that there are particularly prominent industries that employ Greenlanders. The Mining, fishing, tourism industry abounds prominently.
Question can be asked however as to why America is on a territorial frenzy these days. Well Greenland is said to have both a economic and militarily strategic value to the superpowers. China has actually made hidden offers to purchase this landmass, and Russia is keeping an eye upon it also. The capital of Greenland Nuuk is said to be one of the twelve most densely populated centers of intelligence gathering in the world. Spies everywhere keeping an eye upon others gathering intelligence.
So strategic value can be a good reason President Trump wants Greenland, but the actual reason’s for this political adventure is scientific and financial. Scientists know that one of the largest deposits of Rare Earth Minerals can be found in Greenland. He who possesses and controls these minerals will be extremely wealthy and powerful. If America could acquire Greenland a military bases would be established immediately followed by hundreds of scientists, geologist and engineers to find and develop long term mines. A true bonanza for the super power capable of acquiring it. Why has the EU not acquired direct control of these deposits? The Eu does business in a legal fashion showing concern for Greenland’s environment and the true wishes of its aboriginal(original) population.
America does not have any concerns regarding what the population in territory they have acquired need, hope for or wish to have. Manifest Destiny demands America to acquire, harvest and work for America’s interests first and above all else. Venezuela, Greenland and eventually Canada will see this to be true.
Under The Trump Administration a purer more influential and powerful form of Capitalism has developed, placing the needs of a few above the needs of the many. A new form of Christian Bound Faith in Capitalism and the American Way has established itself in America’s Heartland. Why? The Myth of a Greater America has spurred adventurist and opportunists alike to support and put all their financial/political energy behind The Trump Administration. So long as President Trump can bedazzle his followers and seem to achieve greatness they will support the man and his purpose.
The New Imperialists have arrived. America is no longer an example to the world but the biggest bully around. Willing to pick fights with smaller nations America has become a predatory creature ready to devour innocence, democracy and personal freedoms all for the mighty dollar!
