The purpose of the non-repayable financial support is to advance toward, or become ready for, social finance investment. Deadline for applications is Feb. 10.
The Investment Readiness Program was initially launched by the federal government to help social-purpose organizations participate in Canada’s growing social-finance market. It is also designed to help social-purpose organizations prepare for the federal government’s broader investment in social finance via the Social Finance Fund, a 10-year, $755-million program announced in November 2018.
Applicants must be a charity, a non-profit, a co-op or a for-profit social enterprise. Social-purpose organizations, or enterprise activities, can be in the early or late stages of development and anywhere in between.
