It looks like Willie Jefferson is going to get a shot at a Grey Cup three-peat in Winnipeg.
According to TSN Football Insider Farhan Lalji, the star defensive lineman and the Blue Bombers have agreed to a one-year contract extension worth $225,000.
Additionally, Lalji reports that defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat has also agreed to a one-year deal worth $175,000.
The Bombers announced Jefferson’s signing on Friday morning.
The 30-year-old Jefferson appeared in all 14 games during the regular season, recording seven sacks and 18 defensive tackles. He had tallied two interceptions, forced three fumbles and added three tackles in the Grey Cup as the Bombers went on to defeat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 33-25.
Jeffcoat, 31, has spent the last four seasons in Winnipeg, totaling 26 tackles, nine sacks and four forced fumbles in 12 games during the 2021 regular season.
