Break and enter at business
The Guelph Police Service is investigating a commercial break and enter early Tuesday morning that was completed in a matter of seconds.
The owner of a business on Silvercreek Parkway North near Willow Road called police approximately 4:45 a.m. Video surveillance revealed a male approaching the back of the business 20 minutes earlier carrying a rock, which he used to strike and break the door handle.
The male went straight to an office area and stole a cash drawer containing an unknown amount of cash. He was inside the business for just 12 seconds. He is described as a white male with a thin build wearing a black hoodie with a white triangle-shaped logo on the rear right shoulder, black pants, a red baseball cap, black shoes with white soles and gloves.

Attempt break and enter
The Guelph Police Service is investigating an attempted break and enter over the weekend.
Police were called approximately 9:25 a.m. Monday to the business near Speedvale Avenue West and Dawson Road. Staff had arrived at work to find a rear window smashed and personal property left behind, including a backpack containing a blow torch, grinder and chisel. It is not believed the building was entered.

Disturbance leads to criminal charges
A Guelph male faces several charges following a disturbance Monday evening.
Approximately 6:15 p.m. police were called to an address in the area of Bagot Street and Willow Road for reports of a disturbance. Investigation revealed a male and female had been arguing when the male stole the female’s keys and entered her apartment in the area.
The male is bound by an undertaking and probation terms with conditions not to contact the female.
A 34-year-old Guelph male is charged with three counts of failing to comply with probation, two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking and theft under $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
Cigarettes stolen in break and enter
A large quantity of cigarettes were among the items stolen from a downtown business during a break and enter Monday.
Police were called just before 7:30 a.m. to a business near Wyndham Street South and Wellington Street East. Video surveillance showed a male entering the business through a back door approximately 4:30 a.m. He stole a cash box, credit cards, car keys and several cartons of cigarettes.
He was described as a white male in his 30s wearing a blue t-shirt, black hoodie, grey or light brown shorts, a backwards baseball cap and gloves.
