What to believe? A challenge before us

Watching the morning and evening news has become problematic,
a cause of stressed responses, inner cursing and confusion.
Trade and Tariff Talks continue each and every day,
and we are promised our officials are working diligently anyway.

What are they talking about, discussing behind closed doors?
A little tit for tat as they trade off our business sectors for a little bit more.
Small and medium sized businesses and the average Canadian stand by,
hoping all this financial, economic and political crap will subside.

These talking heads who represent our national elite classes,
over paid with their masters own agenda’s at hand,
care for us really? Do they actually understand what we face each day?
Average trade negotiators make a lot more than you and I folks.

What troubles me more than anything else is the secrecy and lack of transparency,
told much is being discussed while the media drums the process up more and more.
A talking head before us talking for 15 minutes but saying nothing important to us,
and we face the challenge of trying to make something concrete out of it all :(.

More of us are going to places of faith asking god for a favor or two,
knowing that our Deity at least will listen to our hope filled prayers..
Trying to be an optimist in a world filled with unbelieving opportunists,
trusting our fellow man is harder to achieve as we go on merrily.
