Mercedes-Benz is recalling Maybach S-Class and S-Class vehicles from the 2021 to 2025 model years in Canada because the front brake hoses could fail and leak brake fluid, according to Transport Canada recall 2026476.
The notice, first published Oct. 2, 2026 and updated Oct. 14, said the leak could be progressive. It could change the feel and travel of the brake pedal and lead to reduced braking.
Reduced braking can lengthen stopping distances and raise the risk of a crash, the notice said.
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership, where the front brake hoses will be replaced. The notice did not say how many vehicles in Canada are affected, and it did not say whether the repair is free of charge.
Owners can look up the recall in Transport Canada’s Motor Vehicle Safety Recalls Database using recall number 2026476. Transport Canada also lets drivers subscribe to recall emails, and safety concerns can be reported through the Government of Canada’s reporting page.
The recall follows other vehicle safety notices this month, including Transport Canada’s recall of the RAM ProMaster over steering loss and an earlier recall of 35,300 Volkswagen vehicles over a steering bolt.
