London voters elect a mayor, ward councillors and school board trustees on Monday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and unlike during advance voting they must vote at the location assigned to them on their voter notification card.
The City of London’s voter information page says you cannot choose another voting location on voting day. Voters can look up their ward and polling place with the city’s online “Am I on the List/Where to Vote?” tool.
Ward boundaries have changed for the 2026 election, so some residents will be voting in a different ward than in 2022, the city says. Checking the ward map before Monday will show which council race appears on your ballot.
The deadline to update the voters’ list online has passed, but eligible voters can still add their names in person at their voting location on Monday. To vote, you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18, and live in London or own or rent property there, or be the spouse of an owner or tenant.
Voters must show ID with their name and address and may need two pieces to cover both. Accepted documents include an Ontario driver’s licence, Ontario photo health card or Ontario Photo Card, as well as a utility bill, bank statement, lease, property tax assessment or a post-secondary residence document, according to the city’s list.
Twelve candidates are on the ballot for mayor, including Mayor Josh Morgan, according to the city’s certified list of candidates. CBC London’s election guide profiles candidates ward by ward, including contested races such as Ward 10, where four challengers are trying to unseat a longtime councillor.
Several local issues have shaped the campaign. The Middlesex-London Health Unit reported this month that opioid-related ER visits have already passed last year’s total, months after the city’s supervised consumption site closed. On the economic side, Hitachi Energy announced plans to build a $479-million pressboard plant in London.
Results will be posted after polls close at 8 p.m. Monday. Follow our coverage on our London, Ont., page.
