The NBA is closing in on approving a second bubble in Chicago for the eight teams that were not invited to play in Orlando, according to ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski and Jackie MacMullan.
The eight clubs are expected to have mini-training camps and play games against other Chicago-bubble teams, Wojnarowski adds. The NBA is targeting the month of September for the teams to report.
The Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors did not make the 22-team list invited to Orlando where the NBA will restart the 2019-20 season on July 30.
